Year-round the Town of Paradise hosts an array of events. Seasonal events are planned throughout the year which offer residents and visitors an opportunity to celebrate and enjoy the community spirit of Paradise. The two main festivals for the Town are Snow and Ice, the annual Winter Carnival in Paradise held in February and SunSplash Paddle In Paradise, the summer celebration held annually in August.

Curby Clean-up Day: May 27 **POSTPONED**

UPDATE: Due to the weather conditions, Curby Clean-Up Day is postponed for Sunday, May 27. The event will be rescheduled and the new date will be announced in the coming days.

With spring here and the snow gone, we need your help to get Paradise in tip top shape! Join us for our Curby Clean-Up Day on May 27 to lend a hand. We encourage all residents to wear appropriate clothing and foot wear as there may be wet areas in need of cleaning. Gloves, bags and sticks will be available for residents to use.The first 50 people to sign-up for the clean-up receive a $15 Cineplex gift card and all registered participants are entered to win the grand prize - a $500 Avalon Mall Gift Card. Canteen Matters are also providing a beverage and cookie to all participants of this year’s clean-up. Walk to Fight Arthritis: June 3

The Walk to Fight Arthritis is Canada’s leading fundraising event dedicated to assisting the 4.6 million Canadians affected by arthritis. 50+ Paradise Wellness Expo: June 9

Date: June 9

Time: 12 p.m.

Location: Hedley Blundon Gymnasium, Paradise Double Ice Complex

The 50+ Paradise Wellness Expo showcases different resources available to seniors, followed by some fantastic food and live entertainment. The Expo is open to anyone over the age of 50
from communities across the province.

  • Special guest speakers (food, fitness, financial consultants, insurance, travel, and more.

Teen Challenge: June 16

Date: June 16

Time: 9 a.m.

Location: Paradise Double Ice Complex

Runners and walkers of all fitness levels are invited to join the annual 5K Trail to Triumph, a fun run in aid of Teen Challenge NL – a residential treatment program for women struggling with substance abuse. Whether you are a seasoned runner or first time participant, start the summer with a healthy living challenge and support a great cause. Ride Don’t Hide: June 24
Date: June 24

Time: 8:30 a.m.

Location: Paradise Park

Ride Don’t Hide is a national cycling event featuring fun community bike rides hosted by local Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) branches across Canada. Last year, over 6,000 cyclists from across 29 communities raised millions of dollars for local mental health initiatives. For CMHA-NL’s Ride an 18.5 km bike ride is planned, it starts and finishes in Paradise Park.

Memorial Day Ceremony: July 1

Our special Memorial Day Ceremony will be held at Town Hall War Memorial, starting at 10:55 a.m. Please join us as we pay our respects for all fallen soldiers, and commemorate the brave

Community Dance Flash Mob

Be part of the fun at our Community Dance Flash Mob! The flash mob involves residents gathering to learn dance steps before taking part in a performance routine at the Town of Paradise’s Canada Day Celebration! There will be two opportunities to be a part of this event- either learn the dance moves at a onetime rehearsal or watch the online video and learn the steps at home. This is open to all ages and abilities. Stay tuned for more information.

Canada Day in Paradise Park: July 1

The Town is excited to offer free activities at our Annual Canada Day Celebrations. All are invited to join in the fun on July 1 for Canada Day in Paradise Park! The event begins in the
afternoon with a great offering of activities including a free BBQ, large bouncy castle rides, and face painting courtesy of Pixy Mama. Thomas Amusements will be on site (regular  fees apply). There will also be free Afternoon Entertainment followed by our Canada Day Concert at the Community Bandstand. As a new addition to the Canada Day Concert, this year the Kin Club will be opening a Beer / Alcohol Tent at 6:45 p.m.

The Annual TELY 10 Road Race: July 22

Date: July 22

Time: 8 a.m.

Location: Paradise - Mount Pearl - St. John's

The 90th Annual TELY 10 Mile Road Race will once again kick off in Paradise. The TELY 10 is Newfoundland's premier road race, and is believed to be the third oldest road race in Canada and one of the oldest in North America. Visit their website for additional information.

Korean War Veteran Day: July 29

Date: July 29

Time: 10:55 a.m.

Location: War Memorial, Town Hall

The Korean War began on June 25, 1950, and the active fighting ended on July 27, 1953, with the signing of the Korea Armistice Agreement. Approximately 7,000 Canadians continued to serve in the tense theatre of operations between the signing of the Armistice and the end of 1955, with some Canadian troops remaining until 1957. Each year a memorial is held on the last Sunday in July to remember those who lost their lives and to honour the bravery of our Canadian soldiers. Body Quest Kids Duathlon: August 25

Date: August 25

Time: 9 a.m.

Location: Paradise Park

This year’s Paradise Kids Duathlon begins with an exhilarating run through Paradise Park, followed by a bike ride on nearby trails, and finishes with a final sprint to the finish for a celebration. Snacks and refreshments are provided. Please note that all distances of the run and bike are adjusted based on the age of the participants.  Body Quest Duathlon: August 26

Date: August 26

Time: 8 a.m.

Location: Octagon Pond and the Town Hall Parking Lot

This year’s Triathlon begins with a 750m open-water swim in Octagon Pond, followed by a 22km bike ride on nearby roads, and concludes with a fast 5km run on the trail around Octagon Pond.
If this seems a little too daunting, this year the event will include a team option, where teams of two or three work together to complete the Triathlon. An awards event at the Rotary Paradise Youth and Community Centre will take place after the Triathlon.

 Terry Fox Run: September 16

Time: 1:00 p.m registration, run begins at 2 p.m

Location: Paradise Double Ice Complex 

Help support a great cause by getting your family, friends, or community group involved in the Terry Fox Run.
