Year-round the Town of Paradise hosts an array of events. Seasonal events are planned throughout the year which offer residents and visitors an opportunity to celebrate and enjoy the community spirit of Paradise. The two main festivals for the Town are Snow and Ice, the annual Winter Carnival in Paradise held in February and SunSplash Paddle In Paradise, the summer celebration held annually in August.

Fall Events

Some of the great activities and events that we have comming up for fall 2018 include:

50+ Sock Hop: October 5
Date: Friday, October 5

Location: Paradise Double Ice Complex (Rotary Paradise Youth and Community Centre)

Time: 7:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.

Ages: 50+

“Come on baby, let’s do the Twist!”

The 50+ community are invited to join us for a night of great live entertainment. The Sock Hop will have music from favorites like Buddy Holly, Big Bopper, Chubby Checker, Elvis, The Temptations, and so much more! This free event includes food, beverages and some great prizes throughout the evening.

Pick up your tickets to the Sock Hop at the Paradise Double Ice Complex reception desk begining October 1. Please note that there is a limit of two tickets per person. For more information, please email or call 709-782-6290. 

Paradise Fire Station Open House: October 6

Date: Saturday, October 6

Location: Paradise Fire Station No. 8,  1565 Topsail Rd

Time: 2 to 5 p.m.

To start off Fire Prevention Week, there will be an Open House at the Paradise Fire Station No. 8. This event will include tours of the station, an opportunity to see all of the equipment, plus games and activities for children. Stop by between 2 and 5 p.m. on October 6 to have fun while learning about fire safety and prevention.

Paradise District Girl Guides Haunted House: October 14

Date: Sunday, October 14

Time: 4 p.m. for children and 7 p.m. for youth and adults

Location: Paradise Double Ice Complex

Cost: $3 / person or $5 / family

Prepare to be scared! The Paradise District Girl Guides host a Haunted House with all proceeds going toward the group. There is a child time slot followed by a youth to adult time slot.  This year’s Haunted House is located in the in the Paradise Double Ice Complex. Guy Fawkes Night: November 5

Date: Monday, November 5

Time: 6:30 to 8:30p.m.

Location: Paradise Park

Join us for campfires as we roast wieners and marshmallows in celebration of Guy Fawkes Night. Free roasting sticks and hot chocolate are available for all families. In the event of inclement weather the event will be postponed until Tuesday, November 6. 

Please note that the main parking lot at Paradise Park is closed. Parking for this event will be at the Paradise Double Ice Complex with access to the park via the walkway.

Remembrance Day Ceremony: November 11
Date: Sunday, November 11

Time: 10:55 a.m.

Location: Paradise Town Hall

The 2018 Remembrance Day Ceremony is held at the War Memorial, in front of Town Hall. All are welcome to join us as we pay our respect to all soldiers who fought for our freedom. In case of inclement weather the ceremony is moved inside to the Paradise Double Ice Complex at 1 Sarah Davis Way. Paradise International Food Fest: November 18

Date: Sunday, November 18

Time: 11 a.m.

Location: Paradise Double Ice Complex- Resource Centre A

This expo includes 30 vendors serving food from around the world. It showcases and promotes cultural diversity in our communities through local and international food. Expect cuisine from many countries such as India, Syria, Nigeria, the Caribbean, Iran, Canada, China, Pakistan, Kenya, Ethiopia, Iraq, the Philippines, Lebanon, and more! Brunch and Pictures with Santa: December 2

Date: Sunday, December 2 


  1. 8:40 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.

  2. 10:10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

  3. 11:40 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

  4. 1:10 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Location: Paradise Double Ice Complex

Cost: $6 for adults and $4 for children (Note: tickets must be purchased in advance for breakfast sittings) 

Join Santa Clause at the Paradise Double Ice Complex for brunch and free pictures. Only those who attend the Brunch with Santa will have the chance to get their pictures taken. Tickets must be purchased before December 2 at the Reception Desk at the Paradise Double Ice Complex.

Christmas Tree Lighting and Ticket Raffle: December 2

Date: Sunday, December 2 

Time:  4 p.m raffle and 6 p.m. for tree lighting activities

Location: Paradise Double Ice Complex

The Kin Club is holding its Christmas Raffle on December 2 from 4:00 to 6:30 p.m. in the main foyer of the Paradise Double Ice Complex. Tree lights go on at 6:15 p.m. illuminating the lobby. There is free hot chocolate for everyone! The Ta Da Choir and members from the Paradise Arts Committee will be on site to perform Christmas Carols. Annual Christmas Parade: December 9

Date: Sunday, December 9

Time: 1 p.m.

Location: Starts at Paradise Elementary School on Karwood Drive, moves up Topsail Road, and finishes at the Paradise Double Ice Complex.

If you’re hoping to see Santa Clause before he heads back to the North Pole to finish getting ready for Christmas, join us for the Town of Paradise Annual Christmas Parade!

Paradise Arts Committee

Christmas Ornament Making Workshops: November 17, 24
Date: Saturday, November 17 and Saturday, November 24

Time: 1 p.m.

Location: Paradise double Ice Complex

Jill Moores will work with children and their parents to explore that art of making Christmas ornaments. What better way to get in to the Christmas spirit! Two workshops will be held and participants will be invited to hang their creations on the Town Christmas Tree or bring them home.
