If you're looking to meet up with friends or make new ones, the Town of Paradise is the place to be. Below you will find information on some of our youth programs and activities!

Avalon Dragons Youth Team

We recently started our very first youth dragon boating team. If you're interested in trying something new and exciting, why not join our youth dragon boat team!

Ches Penney Youth Centre

The Ches Penney Youth Centre is a great place for youth the between of ages 7 and 18 to hang out with friends, climb the indoor rock wall, or play pool, video games and more!

Climbing Wall

Did you know that we have a 24 foot indoor rock wall? Indoor rock climbing is a great way to challenge yourself in a safe and controlled environment. Open seven days a week to youth between the ages of 7 and 12.

Leadership Program

Are you interested in learning new job skills, working with kids, or volunteering with special events happening throughout the Town of Paradise? If so, the Youth Leadership Program is for you! During this past summer, we certified over 20 individuals through the Counsellor in Training program. With so much interest we have decided to continue our offering throughout the school year! This program can help you build your volunteer hours and you might even gain a reference for your future job applications.

Open Gym/Sports Leagues

Are you looking to join a sports league? If you're between the ages of 7 and 18, join us for a free opportunity to work on your athletic skills, and participate in scrimmage games in basketball, soccer, ball hockey, and more. We also have volunteering and coaching opportunities for parents and guardians.

Time: Monday to Thursday from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Peter Barry Duff Memorial Park

The Peter Barry Duff Memorial Park is a great place for families to bring their children to swim, play soccer or baseball, and where adults can enjoy the many walking trails. The park's sports facilities are strictly dedicated to youth 18 years and under, while the rest of the park is open to individuals of all ages. The Park has a playground, swimming area, two ball fields, a soccer field, trails, SK8 Park, botanical pond and more, and is open from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily.

Spa Days

Every girl loves a spa day! If you're between the ages of 13 and 16, join us for relaxing spa nights, healthy snacks, homemade treats, and more! 

Time: Thursday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. from January 21 ro March 24, 2016.

Speaker's Corner

Interested in broadening your presentation, training, and group discussion skills, all while learning more about important social topics such as bullying, safe social media use, and resume writing? Join our Youth Advisory Committee! With other likeminded individuals you will have a chance to explore important topics picked by the committee and expand your professional skillset.

RONA Sk8 Park

The RONA Sk8 Park is open year round, seven days a week, so there's no reason to stop doing what you love! Join us any day and stay warm while you skateboard or ride your scooter.

Youth Advisory Committee

Are  you  an  energetic  youth between  the ages of 13 and 18 who would like to be involved in planning activities in your community and advocating for your peers? Join our Youth Advisory Committee! It's an awesome opportunity to take part in meetings, voice your opinions, and attend great events.

Youth Art Attack

Do you have a creative side? Are you interested in do-it-yourself projects, learning to mold clay, or creating canvas art? If you're between the ages of 13 and 18, join us for Youth Art Attack!

Youth Field Trips & Special Events

If you're between the ages of 13 and 18, you're invited to take part in our youth field trips and special events! Already this year we have gone on several amazing field trips to hockey games, paintball outings, wrestling matches and laser tag games, to name a few! We have also hosted parties, tie dying events and scooter/skateboard competitions!

Youth in the Kitchen

This program is open to youth between the ages of 12 and 18 who are interested in learning to prepare and cook snacks, meals, and desserts. To top off the fun, there will be a food theme each month and your peers will vote on the best recipe.

Time: 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on January 26, February 23, and March 29, 2016.

Youth in the Kitchen Juniors

This program is open to youth between the ages of 7 and 11 who have a flare for cooking and baking. All junior chefs are welcome to come try some fun recipes and creative desserts.

Time: 3:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on January 26, February 23, and March 29, 2016.

Youth Jam

Interested in learning to sing, play guitar or percussion? If you're between the ages of 10  and 18, join the instructors of Frequency Music Studios for jam sessions.

Time: Wednesday from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. from January 20 to March 23, 2016.

Youth Recreation Co-Ed Dodge Ball

If you're between the ages of 12 and 18, join us for an exciting game of Friday night dodge ball! Invite your friends! It's free!

Time: Friday from 8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.

 

Membership Fees and Rates

The Rotary Paradise Youth and Community Centre offers a variety of low cost programs and special events for youth between the ages of 7 and 18. The RONA Sk8 Park/Ches Penney Youth Centre is $5 a month or $25 a year.

Or, if you're Interested in having access to all youth programs and events taking place this season, why not purchase a pass for $20? For those without a pass, you can still attend special events and programs for a drop in fee of $2.
