Road and Construction Projects

Work Resumes on T’Railway Upgrades - Starts April 27, 2021

Work resumes on the T’Railway upgrade project on Tuesday, April 27. The project involves the section of trail from McNamara Drive to the CBS boundary, and is expected to be completed by end of July. The work includes widening and resurfacing the section of trail, installing a granular surface, and completing appropriate edging and drainage.

The section of T’Railway will be closed during the work and barricades will be in place. Residents are asked to follow all signage in the area and please avoid the construction area.

Line Painting on Topsail Road – Sunday, April 25

The 2021 annual line painting and maintenance program is underway and will continue over the coming months. It includes traffic lines, edge lines, crosswalks, stop bars, margins and arrows throughout the Town.

On Sunday, April 25, crews will be completing line painting on Topsail Road.

Drivers are asked to follow all posted signage and to use caution when in the area and around work crews.

Detour for Section of Paradise Road: Starts April 22, 2021

A detour will be in place to divert traffic for a section of Paradise Road (Camrose Drive to St. Thomas Line) effective Thursday, April 22, 2021. The detour will be in place Monday to Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. for the duration of the Paradise Road Phase IV project.

Traffic will be diverted from Paradise Road through Camrose Drive and Deborah Lynn Heights. Emergency vehicles, school buses, and local access will not be detoured. Access to local businesses will also be maintained. Traffic calming measures and appropriate signage will be in place, and Town officials, including Municipal Enforcement, will increase monitoring of the construction site and detour route.

During the road work project, the public is reminded to proceed with caution and to reduce speeds in construction zones and detour routes. The Town apologizes for any inconvenience caused by this work.

Detour Paradise Road Upgrading Phase 4 - April 21, 2021

Work Resumes for Paradise Road Phase IV: Work Starts April 19, 2021

Construction resumes on Paradise Road Phase IV upgrade project on Monday, April 19, 2021. This is the final phase of the Paradise Road upgrade work and will be completed this year.

The work involves paving at the intersection of St. Thomas Line and Paradise Road, paving and sidewalk installation on the section of road from the intersection to Rob's Road, and widening the road and installing curb, gutters, sidewalks and storm sewers on the remaining section from Rob’s Road to Archibald Drive.

Construction work will occur from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday to Friday and will continue for approximately three months. While crews will work to minimize traffic impacts as much as possible, especially during the peak morning and evening traffic times, traffic interruptions and delays will occur as the nature of this work makes it impossible to maintain a lane of traffic in each direction all the times. The public is reminded to use caution and reduce speeds in all construction areas.

Upgrades to Donna Road Pump Station: Work Starts April 5, 2021
Upgrade work is planned for the Donna Road Pump Station to address address the on-going issues with this pump station. It is scheduled to begin on Monday, April 5 and take three days to complete. While the work is on-going, water service will be maintained, but residents may notice low water pressure at times. The Town apologizes for any inconvenience caused by this work.
