Paddle in Paradise- Dragon Boat Festival

| Print This Page |

Gather your family and friends and join us for the annual Dragon Boat Festival on Octagon Pond. Come down early to cheer on your favorite community or corporate teams while enjoying some of the many fun pondside events. Watch the traditional Chinese Dragon Dance, hang out at the literacy and crafts tent, make a paper dragon, get your face painted, and much more.

This festival is the major fundraising event for The Avalon Dragons Breast Cancer Survivor Dragon Boat Team. Funds raised help the Avalon Dragons expand the sport and support programs for breast cancer patients and survivors right here in the province.

Dragon boating is the fastest growing water sport in North America. Interested? Why not sign up for a special workshop on August 19 and spend some time on the pond with the Captain of the Course, Albert McDonald, winner of 20 gold medals at the Dragon Boat World Championships! Please email for more information.
