Join the Avalon Dragons and the Town of Paradise for the 2019 Paddle in Paradise Dragon Boat Festival. Up to 40 community and corporate teams will hit the pond for a great day of dragon boat racing, the fastest growing water sport in North America. These sleek 40-foot racing boats with dragon heads and tails hold 20 paddlers, with a steersperson in back and drummer in front. Prizes will be awarded to the fastest team, most-spirited team, and best fundraisers. There will also be children’s face painting, activities and food concessions throughout the day.
The Avalon Dragons are solely funded by your donations. Funds raised help support the local team, help them expand their sport to survivors across the province, and fund programs for those undergoing breast cancer treatments.
For more information about the festival or to find out how to join the Avalon Dragons, visit their website and follow them on Facebook. Final times and a complete race schedule will also be posted on their website.
