Get excited for our Annual SunSplash Paddle in Paradise Festival! This year Paradise’s week long summer festival kicks off on Sunday, August 11 and runs through to Sunday, August 18. Take a look at all the great activities we have planned to celebrate summer in Paradise.


Sunday, August 11

SunSplash Opening Ceremony

Join us for the official opening of the SunSplash Paddle in Paradise Summer Festival. This kickoff event has something fun for everyone. Come enjoy the Splash Pad, games for all ages, Sky High bouncers, face painting, a free BBQ, prizes, an afternoon of live music, and so much more.

Paradise Running Club Figure 8 Race

Runners of all abilities are invited to help get SunSplash moving with the Paradise Running Club’s annual Figure 8 Race. The Figure 8 Race is a manual timed event open to competitive and casual runners. Fitness Frenzy (NEW!)
Come on down to the Fitness Frenzy in Paradise Park, where there will be a showcase of six fitness programs that will be offered in the fall: Beginners Yoga, PiYo, Turbo Kick, Pound, Multi- Fit, and both Advanced and Intermediate Yoga. Each class will be 20 minutes long and is free of charge, though participants will need to sign a Par-Q waiver onsite in order to take part. For more information please email.

Meadow Creek Retirement Centre Visit

The Town of Paradise is bringing Sunsplash to the Meadow Creek Retirement Centre! Meadow Creek residents and their families can look forward to an afternoon of fun, food and dancing soundtracked by traditional tunes courtesy of Ray Lake. Please note that this is a private event.

Tuesday, August 13

Shuffleboard Social (NEW!)

Shuffleboard is a fun, low impact activity for teams of two that's easy to learn. No previous experience is necessary, and players of all skill levels are welcome. There will also be snacks and prizes. To register for this event, please email.

Karwood Retirement Retreat Visit

The Town of Paradise is bringing Sunsplash to the Karwood Retirement Retreat! Residents and their families can look forward to an afternoon of fun, food and dancing soundtracked by traditional tunes courtesy of Ray Lake. Please note that this is a private event.

Wednesday, August 14

Family Goods Bingo and Satellite Bingo

Family Goods Bingo is an all-ages family event hosted by the Kin Club of Paradise. There are lots of prizes to be won, generously donated by local businesses and associations. All proceeds are used to help families in need. Satellite Bingo is one of the most exciting and revolutionary aspects of Charitable Gaming in the Atlantic Star Satellite Bingo Network, offering prizes in the tens of thousands of dollars.

Thursday, August 15

 Outdoor Movie in Paradise Park - DUMBO

Bring the whole family to our outdoor screening of Dumbo on Thursday, August 15 at the bandstand in Paradise Park. Participants are encouraged to bring folding chairs. In case of inclement weather, the venue will move inside the Paradise Double Ice Complex. The entry fee is one non-perishable food item per person.

Friday, August 16

Sunsplash Outdoor Kitchen Party 

What better way to enjoy summer than with an outdoor concert featuring great local music? This year’s SunSplash Outdoor Kitchen Party takes place at Paradise Park and is a 19+ event. Passes cost $20, available at the Paradise Double Ice Complex beginning August 2.

  • 9:30 p.m. - Rovin'eers
  • 10:30 p.m. - Tarahan
  • 11:30 p.m. - Siochana

Saturday, August 17

Annual Paddle in Paradise Dragon Boat Festival

Join the Avalon Dragons and the Town of Paradise for the 2019 Paddle in Paradise Dragon Boat Festival. Up to 40 community and corporate teams will hit the pond for a great day of dragon boat racing, the fastest growing water sport in North America. These sleek 40-foot racing boats with dragon heads and tails hold 20 paddlers, with a steersperson in back and drummer in front. Prizes will be awarded to the fastest team, most-spirited team, and best fundraisers. There will be children’s face painting, activities and food concessions throughout the day. 

The Avalon Dragons are solely funded by your donations. Funds raised help support the local team, help them expand their sport to survivors across the province, and fund programs for those undergoing breast cancer treatments. For more information about the Festival or how to join the Avalon Dragons, visit and follow them on Facebook. Final times and a complete race schedule will also be posted on their website.


Both the Octagon Pond and Body Quest parking lots will be reserved for festival staff, volunteers and wheelchair parking only. Festivalgoers may park at either the Town Hall parking lot or the Paradise Double Ice Complex parking lot. Buses to the Octagon Pond site will be running from these lots between 7:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Please note that parking in the Paradise Plaza lot is prohibited.

Octagon Pond Fun Day (NEW!)

Be sure to stick around after the dragon boat races, as there will be other boating rides and activities, live entertainment, a new painted rock scavenger hunt and awesome prizes. Bring the family!

Fun in the Sun Parent and Tot (NEW!)

Games, toys, prizes and other activities for families with children 0-5 years.

 3-on-3 Youth Basketball Tournament

Get your team together for a b-ball showdown at the SunSplash Youth Basketball Tournament! This event is broken down into three age groups: 10 and under; 11-13; and 14-18, and costs $5 per player (maximum of five players per team). Email or call 782-3518 to sign up and be part of the action.

Join the Kin Club of Paradise for a Luau at the Double Ice complex, complete with music and fantastic prizes. Come dressed in your tropical/Hawaiian best - grass skirts encouraged! This ladies only event is 19+ and there will be a cash bar. Doors open at 7 p.m. Tickets are $20 and will go on sale in mid-July. Sunday, August 18

Family Fun Day in Paradise Park

There's something for everyone at Family Fun Day! Daytime events include special performances, free bouncy castle rides, games, face painting, food concessions, prizes and more. Admission is $5 for adults and free for children 12 and under. Tickets are available at the gate (cash only).

  • 2 p.m. - Animal Show: LeAnneAzon  

  • 3 p.m. - Magician Gary Summers

  • 4 p.m. - Music by Ray Lake

Location: Paradise Park 

Evening Entertainment and Fireworks Show  

The excitement continues from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. as we close out SunSplash with a free night of fun and live entertainment, including Paradise’s own Dana Parsons with her band the Dana Parsons Project, and a fabulous Fire Show performed by “Smokeshow”. Plus, the largest fireworks display the Town has ever done takes place at 9:40 p.m. This is a must see event!
