Councillor Sterling Willis

Sterling Willis was elected to Council for the Town of Paradise eight consecutive times. During that time, he served as Deputy Mayor for eight years and is currently serving as Councillor.

Sterling is very active in the community. He is the current Chair of the North East Avalon Joint Councils, member of the Regional Fire Services Committee, Chair of the Emergency and Protective Services Committee for Paradise, and a member of the Board of Directors for the Federation of Canadian Municipalities. Additionally, appointed by the Minister, Sterling is a member of the North East Avalon Regional Plan Review.

As a long-time volunteer, Sterling has achieved many awards for his dedication to the Lion's Club and has been granted Life Membership to the Lion's Foundation of Canada. He also started the first ever food bank in Paradise, played a major role in the development of the Town's first walking and hiking trail (around Neil's Pond), and assisted in securing funds to develop the first fully-equipped playground built in the Town.

Now retired from a successful career, Sterling has a Certificate in Fire Service Leadership from Dalhousie University and also studied Business Administration at Memorial University of Newfoundland and Labrador. He and he wife Francis reside in Paradise.
