The Town of Paradise gathered today to celebrate its involvement in the 2025 Canada Games as a Community Partner. The Town is proud to be a host site for two sports, beach volleyball and box lacrosse. Paradise Mayor Dan Bobbett was joined by Kim Keating, Co-Chair, 2025 Canada Games Host Society, and St. John’s Mayor Danny Breen along with members of Paradise Town Council, Host Society staff, and local athletes.
“We are thrilled to be a Community Partner for the 2025 Canada Games and can’t wait to welcome athletes, coaches, and spectators from across the country to the Town of Paradise,” said Dan Bobbett, Mayor, Town of Paradise. “We see it as a win-win for all involved and we look forward to working with the 2025 Canada Games Host Society and our municipal neighbours to bring the Games to the region.”

As a Community Partner, the Town of Paradise will play a pivotal role in the execution of the 2025 Canada Games. By offering exceptional facilities at Paradise Park (beach volleyball) and at Paradise Double Ice Complex (box lacrosse), the Town is committed to providing athletes with an unforgettable experience at venues that exceed competition standards for the Games.
“Through participating in the 2025 Canada Games we are making investments that will have a lasting legacy for our Town,” said Mayor Bobbett. “Our facilities will have the standards for national sporting events, our local athletes can watch great competition in their hometown, our community volunteers will have the opportunity to support a great event, and our business community will benefit from the spin-offs of hundreds of athletes and spectators coming to our Town.”
Background on 2025 Canada Games
From August 8 – 25, 2025, the 2025 Canada Games will bring together over 4,800 athletes, managers, and coaches, across 19 different sports for the largest multi-sport event in the country. The Canada Games showcase the best of the best in sport and highlight the immense talents of our youth. The Games create a spirit of unity that spans each province and territory. People connect in ways that go beyond the field of play, forming bonds that are deeply rooted in friendship and a collective passion for amateur sport in Canada. The 2025 Canada Games invites Canadians to come and connect through friendship, sport, adventure, and the experience that is St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador.
