January 21, 2026 – Paradise, NL: The Town of Paradise advises residents that testing of two new fire hydrants will take place on Wednesday, January 21, 2026. This work will occur near the St. Thomas Line and Topsail Road intersection and is part of routine water system maintenance.
During the day, residents in the area may experience temporary changes in water colour or cloudiness.
If water appears discoloured or cloudy, residents are advised to run cold water until it clears.

The Town of Paradise today announced that its 2026 municipal budget will be presented on January 29, 2026. The Town requested the extension from the Minister of Municipal and Community Affairs, as required under the Towns and Local Service District Act, and was granted approval for the extension.

UPDATE - 4:15 p.m.: The Town of Paradise advises that the situation on Brisbane Court is resolved. Brisbane Court and Starlight Drive are reopened to all traffic and residents can return to their homes. As a result, the Town’s warming centre is now closed. Crews isolated the incident, vacuumed and flushed the storm sewer system in the area, and that resolved the issue. Residents may still notice a fuel smell in the area or in their homes; this will dissipate naturally and does not present any...
