All swimming sessions take place on Sundays at a time slot dedicated exclusively for Paradise residents.

Tot Lessons (Ages 2-5)
- This class introduces your child to basic swimming skills. Parents do not accompany tots in the water but may watch from the side of the pool.
- Ratio is 3 children to 1 instructor.

Parent & Baby (Ages 2-5)
- This parented class is designed to help parents introduce their babies to the aquatic environment. An instructor is in the water to teach you how to help you child accomplish a variety of skills such as confidence in the water, blowing bubbles, going underwater, kicking, and floating. If you are unsure of when to start your child in a swimming program or have some medical/health concerns, you should speak with your doctor.

White Low Ratio (Ages 5-16)
- Low Ratio lessons are designed for children 5 and up who require or desire more attention than regular group lessons.
- These 30 minutes classes have an instructor to student ratio of 1:3.
- White is the first level in the program, skills taught include water orientation, front movement skills, back movement skills and front/back glides.

Purple Low Ratio (Ages 5-16)
- Low Ratio lessons are designed for children 5 and up who require or desire more attention than regular group lessons.
- These 30 minutes classes have an instructor to student ratio of 1:3.
- Purple is the second level in the program, skills taught include basic front swim, basic back swim, backstroke kick, under water swim and how to jump off the side.

Red Low Ratio (Ages 5-16)
- Low Ratio lessons are designed for children 5 and up who require or desire more attention than regular group lessons.
- These 30 minutes classes have an instructor to student ratio of 1:3.
- Red is the third level in the program, skills taught include front swim for 20m, backstroke kick for 20m and introduction to front crawl skills for 20m

Green Low Ratio (Ages 5-16)
- Low Ratio lessons are designed for children 5 and up who require or desire more attention than regular group lessons.
- These 30 minutes classes have an instructor to student ratio of 1:3.
- Green is the fourth level in the program, skills taught include introduction to front crawl for 20m, introduction to backstroke for 20m and a shallow dive into deep water.

Aqua Low Ratio (Ages 5-16)
- Low Ratio lessons are designed for children 5 and up who require or desire more attention than regular group lessons.
These 30 minutes classes have an instructor to student ratio of 1:3. Aqua is the fifth level in the program, skills taught include front crawl for 40m, backstroke for 40m, introduction to breaststroke kick and a shallow dive.

Blue Low Ratio (Ages 5-16)
- Low Ratio lessons are designed for children 5 and up who require or desire more attention than regular group lessons.
- These 30 minutes classes have an instructor to student ratio of 1:3.
- Blue is the sixth level in the program, skills taught include front crawl for 60m, back crawl for 40m, breaststroke kick for 40m, introduction to breaststroke pull and an underwater swim.

Bronze Low Ratio (Ages 5-16)
- Low Ratio lessons are designed for children 5 and up who require or desire more attention than regular group lessons.
These 30 minutes classes have an instructor to student ratio of 1:3.
- Bronze is the seventh level in the program, skills taught include front crawl for 80m, back crawl for 40m, breaststroke for 40m and butterfly kick.

Silver/Gold Low Ratio (Ages 5-16)
- Low Ratio lessons are designed for children 5 and up who require or desire more attention than regular group lessons.
- These 30 minutes classes have an instructor to student ratio of 1:3
- Silver is the eighth level in the program, skills taught include Front crawl for 80m, back crawl for 80m, breaststroke for 80m and butterfly for 20m.
- Gold is the ninth level in the program, skills taught include front crawl for 100m, back crawl for 100m, breaststroke for 80m and butterfly for 40m.

Note: One Child is enrolled in the class; the other children are added by answering questions during the registration process. The Household who completes the registration is responsible to pay the full amount owing and the receipt will be issued in their name.

Arriving at the Facility |
- Entrance to the Aquarena is through the main entrance, throughout the facility there is directional signage.
- To facilitate physical distancing, arrival and departure times to the facility are structured as follows:
- Participants must arrive 15 minutes before their scheduled lesson time. Participants must be on the pool deck 5 minutes prior to lesson start time.
- We recommend that participants arrive with their swim wear on. There is a 15-minute window prior to class time to use the change rooms.
- There are no showers in the change rooms.
- All participants must exit the change rooms and go to the rinsing showers on the pool deck to rinse before their lesson.
- o Move to the left-hand side of the pool deck, by the Tot Pool and wait for the lesson to begin.
- After the lessons, participants will have 15 minutes to rinse off on the pool deck (there is no soap or shampoo permitted to be used, showers are for rinsing only) and use change rooms. There are no hand dryers or hair dryers.
- Exit the Aquarena through the doors located under the Pedway.

Parents and Guardians as Spectators |
- Each family/group are permitted one (1) guardian in the facility.
- The only Parent/Guardian permitted on the pool deck are those who are accompanying participants into the water. Spectators are not permitted on the pool deck.

How to Register
Registration is now available for the Spring session and is available online only through The Works.
All those interested in registering for these lessons MUST have an account (household) set up with The Works prior to the registration time. If you have registered for swimming lessons or other programs at The Works you most likely already have an account – you can verify by calling 709.864.3798. Anyone who does not have a household / account set up will not be able to register for these lessons. There will be no registration by phone or in person.
