The Paddy’s Pond fire is still a very active fire. The Department of Fisheries, Forestry and Agriculture advised that weather conditions are favourable today (August 14) and that water bombers, a bird dog aircraft, bucketing helicopters, Coast Guard helicopters, and ground crews are working on the fire.

The Paddy’s Pond fire remains active with air suppression and ground crews work continuing today (August 14). The St. John’s Regional Fire Department continues to provide ground suppression along the Trans-Canada Highway. We thank all first responders for their ongoing tireless work fighting the wildfires. Residents are reminded this is still a very active fire and to monitor official government sources for updates.

The Paddy’s Pond Fire was monitored closely throughout the evening. Town officials are meeting with the Province this morning and further updates will be provided once more information becomes available.
