The Town of Paradise today held a ceremony to dedicate the playground on Reardon Avenue in memory of Noah Zaja. Mayor Dan Bobbett and Council were joined by members of Noah’s family for the event to dedicate the park as Noah’s Place.
“The Town of Paradise is honoured to be able to dedicate a playground in memory of Noah Zaja. It is our hope that all families in the area and throughout Paradise who visit Noah’s Place find happiness, joy, and peacefulness, and think fondly of a little boy whose life left a lasting legacy,” said Mayor Bobbett.
Noah’s Place includes playground equipment, a ball hockey court, benches, picnic tables, and space for open play. It also has a reflection heart, a new addition to the area which was built specifically for the park’s dedication. It is an area made of natural stone where park visitors can take time for reflection, can enjoy the view of Conception Bay, or can watch their children have fun enjoying the playground and area.
“Our family is so very appreciative of the outpouring of support that we have received since the loss of our precious Noah. We are profoundly touched by this very kind gesture by the Town of Paradise to honour him. We look forward to watching children and families, including our own, have fun and enjoy a park that Noah loved so much and will now bear his name,” said Noah’s parents, Pam Myles and Marko Zaja.
The wording on the dedication plaque in the reflection heart, prepared by Noah’s family, reads:
“Noah was a little boy with a big heart and huge love of life. He loved to play, explore, and have fun. He was funny, adventurous, gentle, outgoing and truly enjoyed making others smile. Noah was a boy who found joy in everything and who brought joy to everyone who knew him. He had a sweet and generous nature and made friends everywhere he went. He leaves a legacy of kindness and love; his life a reminder to make the most of every moment and to always show compassion and caring to others as he did. As you play here today, please remember to have fun and to be kind, just as Noah would have.”
