News Release: Town of Paradise Celebrates Snow & Ice in Paradise Winter Carnival

February 12, 2016 – Paradise, NL – Today the Town of Paradise is gearing up for the 2016 Snow & Ice in Paradise Winter Carnival which runs from February 12 to 21, 2016. The annual winter carnival provides residents and visitors with an opportunity to get outside and enjoy winter in Paradise through a variety of activities and events such as sliding, skating, a concert, fireworks, a dinner theatre and more.

“Each year as we begin planning for Snow & Ice in Paradise, we work diligently to ensure it’s the best year yet, and every year it truly gets better and better,” said Dan Bobbett, Paradise Mayor. “This year, to top off the fun, we’ve added a Concert in the Complex featuring Brothers in Stereo and headliners – the Novaks. It’s a show you won’t want to miss!”

The winter carnival begins today (Friday, February 12) at 3:00 p.m. with a free youth skating event at the Paradise Double Ice Complex, and the official kick-off and opening ceremony takes place on Saturday, February 13 at 12:00 p.m. followed by sliding at 1 Sarah Davis Way. The ten day carnival will also include a number of other exciting events, including but not limited to:

• Valentine’s Dinner & Dance hosted by the Rotary Club of Avalon Northeast
• Concert in the Complex
• Spirit of Newfoundland Dinner Theatre
• Cutting Edge Wrestling match
• Youth Laser tag
• Fireworks
• Seniors darts
• Night time sliding
• Fun Run/Walk

“As a widely recognized and highly anticipated event, the Snow & Ice in Paradise winter carnival offers something for everyone and is sure to be a great time,” said Councillor Vince Burton, Chair, Recreation and Leisure Services Committee. “Don’t miss a moment of the fun.
