The Town of Paradise, together with a newly-formed Paradise community arts group, are launching the first ever Paradise Summer Arts Series to run weekly from Thursday, July 21 to September 1. The program is designed to highlight the various artistic talents of local residents through weekly themed evening performances which will feature art forms such as blues, traditional, hip hop, jazz and funk music, as well as youth theatre and a songwriters circle.
“We’re excited to launch this program in the Town of Paradise,” said Mayor Dan Bobbett. “It enables us to provide great entertainment to residents and visitors throughout the summer while at the same time helping to foster the arts community and showcase the wealth of local talent in our Town and throughout the region.”
The events are free to the public and will be held at the Paradise Double Ice Complex. The full schedule is as follows:
July 21 at 7:30 p.m. - Blues Night with headliner Jug Habit
July 28 at 7:00 p.m. – Youth Theatre Performance of Through the Looking Glass, directed by Terri Andrews
August 4 at 7:30 p.m. - Traditional Night with headliner Duane Andrews and Aaron Collis
August 11 7:30 p.m. - Dance/ Jazz / Funk Night with headliner Ouroboros
August 18 7:30 p.m. - Hip Hop Night with headliner Dark Planet Collective
September 1 7:30 p.m. - Songwriters Circle hosted by Sean Panting and Dana Parsons
“The amount of artistic ability throughout the Paradise area is truly amazing and our goal is to give these local artists the proper platform to share their incredible gifts with others,” said Dana Parsons, member of the Paradise community arts group and host of the Paradise Summer Arts Series. “We are beyond thrilled to have the support of the Town behind us as we begin this new journey and we look forward to seeing where this arts series might bring us in the future.”
