Today the Town of Paradise is announcing a plan to temporarily reconfigure the dog parks in Paradise Park. The changes are designed to meet the needs of users while accommodating the beach volleyball courts for the 2025 Canada Summer Games.
Under this reconfiguration, the Town will maintain two dog parks: one for smaller dogs and another for larger dogs. Currently, there are two dog parks of equal size, adjacent to one another. With the updates, the area for smaller dogs will become a distinct fenced area within the space for larger dogs, each with separate entrances. Pet owners have expressed appreciation for having separate areas for small and larger dogs, and this separation will be maintained. The work is scheduled to be completed by the end of the summer, and further announcements will be made once construction begins.
This reconfiguration is temporary as the Paradise Park Master Plan is in progress and will include remodeling of the dog park areas. Paradise Park is the cornerstone of the Town’s outdoor recreational spaces, and the goal is to ensure a balance of amenities, features, and programming for this area, including for our four-legged residents. The changes to the dog parks and the addition of competition-level beach volleyball courts will enhance one of the central recreational areas in Town.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. We hope you will continue to avail of the wonderful amenities of Paradise Park this summer and everyone will get to enjoy the Canada Summer Games in 2025.
