UPDATE - 4:15 p.m.: The Town of Paradise advises that the situation on Brisbane Court is resolved. Brisbane Court and Starlight Drive are reopened to all traffic and residents can return to their homes. As a result, the Town’s warming centre is now closed. Crews isolated the incident, vacuumed and flushed the storm sewer system in the area, and that resolved the issue. Residents may still notice a fuel smell in the area or in their homes; this will dissipate naturally and does not present any safety concerns. For any residents who have a fuel smell in their houses, they can open their windows and can turn on water taps and flush toilets. Crews will remain on site throughout the evening to monitor the situation.
The Town thanks residents for their cooperation as we dealt with the situation.
