Our crews worked throughout the day to address the significant snowfall we’ve had in Paradise.
We have equipment out in all routes and our crews are working 24/7 this weekend. Main roads such as Topsail Road, Kenmount Road and St. Thomas Line are cleared and passable. Crews are working on side and collector roads, and by late-morning on Monday, we expect to have made one cut (a single lane) in all areas. Our crews are working as quickly as they safely can with this volume of snow to do their routes. We understand residents want to know when your street will be completed and we’re just not able to give that detail at this time.
We ask residents to please stay off the roads if at all possible. Reducing the volume of traffic means our crews can do the snow clearing more efficiently.
Residents are reminded that the Winter Parking Ban is in effect, and no vehicles are permitted to park on any Town roads for 24 hours after the end of a snowfall event. When you move your car to the street to clear your driveway, you must move it when the snow clearing crews are in the area. Cars parked on the street mean our crews cannot clear that road, and that in turn, delays all snow clearing work.
While clearing your driveway, please remember to not shovel, snow blow, or push snow from driveways and walkways onto the road. This makes more work for crews and your neighbours.
Unfortunately, the Plow Tracker is currently not available on the Town website, and we apologize for the inconvenience. We have been experiencing intermittent power interruptions throughout the day and it is affecting the Plow Tracker connecting to the website. We are working to resolve the issue. We assure residents that all available equipment is out and our crews are working on snow clearing.
We will issue another Snow Clearing Update on Monday morning.
