In the last five days, over 120 cm of snow has fallen in Paradise and more is expected throughout this evening and tonight.
Our crews and equipment are out. With the snow continuing to accumulate and the current high winds, our operators are facing white out conditions at times, and their safety is our top concern. At this time, crews are working to keep the main roads (Topsail Road, St. Thomas Line, and Kenmount Road) passable.
As always, crews are actively available to support any emergency calls with 911. We assure residents there are protocols in place to support all emergency needs. Should you face an emergency situation, please call 911. They have direct lines of contact with Town staff and together they will coordinate the needed resources to respond to the situation. Anytime 911 is responding to an emergency in our Town during adverse weather, they contact us and snow clearing resources are immediately deployed as needed.
We strongly encourage residents to stay off the roads, for your safety and the safety of our operators. The less vehicles on the roads the better for snow clearing operations. If you don’t have to be out today, please stay home as it helps our crews in their work.
With the volume of snow and high winds, it is going to take our crews longer than usual to complete the snow clearing routes. It is not possible to give updates on specific areas or streets. We will issue another update on snow clearing operations later this evening.
Our crews and equipment are out, doing the best they can in current conditions, and we ask residents for your continued patience, understanding and cooperation.
