As of 4 PM today, the majority of streets in Paradise in Paradise have received a first pass in snow clearing which is one cut to give a single lane on the road. Some areas in the St. Thomas Line area are not yet done and crews are currently doing the first pass on those streets.
Crews are now starting push back of snow, and that needs to be done first before crews can start street widening with the large blowers. Once we start street widening, we will be trucking the snow away.
We thank our residents for staying off the roads as much as possible today, it was a big help to our crews. And please continue to reduce traffic as much as possible, if you don’t have to go out, stay off the roads. It really does help with the snow clearing work.
Residents are reminded that cars cannot be parked on Town roads. We know you need to move your car to the street to clear your driveway, however, when our crews are in the area, you must move the vehicle. Parked cars on roadways mean our crews cannot complete the route and that delays snow clearing for everyone. We really appreciate your support in moving cars when our snow clearing equipment is on your street.
A friendly reminder for everyone to be please keep away from snowbanks and our snow clearing equipment. All those snowbanks are tempting to play in, but it can be difficult for snow clearing crews to see children in the snow. It’s also a good idea to wear bright or reflective clothing as it makes it easier for crews to see you. And when you see our snow clearing crews on your street, please keep a safe distance.
We ask our residents for their continued patience. Our crews are working as quickly and as safely as they can. We understand your frustrations that you would like the snow clearing done quicker, but that is just not possible with this volume of snow.
We will continue to provide updates.
