The Town of Paradise has launched a new website, complete with a new url, paradise.ca, and a new mobile app, Pingstreet.
“We’re excited to launch a new website and a mobile app for the Town of Paradise,” said Mayor Dan Bobbett. “It’s about communicating with our residents and ensuring they have access to up-to-date information on the Town’s programs, services and events and can access it on any device.”
The website features a new layout and responsive design making it easier to navigate and access on any device. The content is presented with drop down menu navigation and has a number of new features including eservices and an enhanced event calendar which allows submissions from community groups (with approvals). In addition, the site was designed to meet various accessibility requirements such as ability to change font size and compatibility for screen readers.
The new app for the Town of Paradise, Pingstreet, is available free for download through all major app stores. It is compatible for iPhone, Windows Phone 8.1, Android and Blackberry. It features information on garbage and recycling, Town news and events, and a notification centre. Residents can also report a problem through the app, including submitting a photo with the report.
“The app leverages existing data maintained on the website, so the process of making information more accessible to residents is streamlined, time-efficient, and cost-effective,” explained Mayor Bobbett. “More and more, we’re all turning to our smartphones or tablets to search information, therefore it’s important Paradise residents can access Town information they need on any device, whether computer, smartphone or tablet – with our new website and app residents can do just that.”
