The Town of Paradise thanks all residents for their cooperation and support as we deal with the Paddy’s Pond Wildfire.
The following update will the Town’s last notice for Tuesday, August 12, unless there is a significant change to the status of the response:
• The evacuation of the Three Island Pond Area is complete. We thank all residents for their prompt and orderly response. We appreciate those residents who had previously evacuated and left notice on their front door for the first responders canvassing the area;
• The Evacuation Preparedness Alert remains in place for the area of Paradise on the south side of Topsail Road from the Outer Ring Road exit to CBS boundary. Residents are advised to be prepared to leave their home on short notice. If an evacuation order is issued, residents will not be able to return to their homes and should plan accordingly;
• The province has declared a regional State of Emergency and the purpose is to enable the province to support the municipalities in responding to the wildfires. For clarity, this DOES NOT change the area for the Three Island Pond Evacuation Order or the area for the Evacuation Preparedness Alert;
• The Red Cross is experiencing a high volume of calls at this time and those trying to register with the organization are advised to the use the website at www.redcross.ca/2025NewfoundlandWildfires
• Residents are reminded to sign-up for the Town’s Resident Notification System, visit paradise.ca for all the details; and
• Continue to monitor the Government of Newfoundland’s website page for updates
We will resume issuing updates on Wednesday morning.
