Food Waste & Composting |
Composting is a great Green Goal that's environmentally friendly and provides benefits for your garden. When composting, only use organic matter, this includes vegetable and fruit scraps, eggs, coffee and tea grounds, and backyard debris. Remember not to include plastic, meat or other items that will not decompose easily. The Town offers compost bins for $45 and are available for pick-up at the Town Hall during regular business hours from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. For more information, call 709.782.3577. When it comes to non-perishables, stock up your local Food Bank instead of the landfill.
