St. Thomas Line Pump Station Now Operational - April 10, 2026

April 10, 2026 Paradise, NL – The Town of Paradise is pleased to announce that the St. Thomas Line Pump Station is now fully operational.

Construction on the replacement of the former Lift Station 10 began in January 2023 and was completed in late Fall 2025, marking a major milestone for the Town’s wastewater infrastructure. The project represents one of the largest infrastructure investments undertaken by the Town in more than a decade.

The new St. Thomas Line Pump Station is a modern facility designed for a 50-year life span. It is built to meet both the current and future needs of Paradise and includes system redundancies that allow the station to continue operating in the event of equipment issues. This ensures a dependable and reliable service for a significant number of households in the community.

“This pump station delivers exactly what residents need; reliable, modern wastewater infrastructure,” said Patrick Martin, Mayor of Paradise. “Replacing the former lift station was essential to address reliability issues and ensure the wastewater system functions as it should for the community long-term.”

The replacement of Lift Station 10 was a substantial capital investment for the Town. The project was cost-shared with federal and provincial funding partners, helping to deliver a critical upgrade while maximizing value for residents.

The Town thanks residents for their patience throughout construction and recognizes the work of the Town staff and contractors who helped bring this important project to completion.
