The Gentle Reset is a new 10-week community cohort designed to support the physical, mental, emotional and social recovery of new caregivers during the critical “fourth trimester” and beyond. This program is a fun approach to wellness with participation and resources from certified specialists, including a postpartum doula, board-certified music therapist, postnatal yoga instructor, and recreation practitioners, as well as community activities for staying active with your little one! This program is ideal for most newborns up until walking age.
Wellness areas that are included within this cohort are as follows:Â
- Welcome/Play-Based IntroductionÂ
- Babywearing & Attachment: Holding Your Baby, Building Your BondÂ
- Swimming at the SummitÂ
- Postnatal Yoga SessionÂ
- Music Therapy SessionÂ
- Mindfulness for Parents: Finding Calm In The ChaosÂ
- Stroller Walk at Neil's PondÂ
- Preparing for the Transition: Returning to Work After Maternity LeaveÂ
- Picnic in the Park/Healthy Eating and Feeding
- Self-Care Activity & CelebrationÂ
Funding was obtained from the proposal to the Wellness Coalition – Avalon East for this project. Beyond physical health, baby-inclusive programs help address common challenges in early parenthood such as isolation, fatigue and reduced confidence.
