Policing Services
For residents who would like to report incidents that do not require immediate attention, the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) has an online reporting system to free up emergency lines.
The Online Reporting System will guide complainants through a series of steps to file a police report. Crimes that can be reported online include:
- Lost property
- Theft under $5,000
- Theft from a motor vehicle
- Property damage
- Damage to a vehicle
- Motor vehicle collisions
- Fraud under $5,000
Online reports are investigated in the same manner as crimes reported by phone or in person.
The online system is meant for those who have access and means, and those who are comfortable with online platforms. Non-emergent matters can still be reported by calling your local detachment or by visiting a detachment in-person. For crimes in progress, always call 911.
Those who have already submitted reports are urged not to submit a duplicate report for the same complaint. Please wait until you are contacted by an officer before providing further information.
The RNC continues to urge the public to report crime directly to police for investigation.
