Update on Town Snow Clearing Operations - March 24, 2026

The Town advises that snow clearing operations were delayed due to overnight incidents which impacted equipment availability. However, we currently have crews in all routes and they are working to complete them as quickly as possible. The Town apologizes for the inconvenience.

On Tuesday, March 24, 2026, during overnight snow clearing operations, there were two incidents involving Town equipment. The Town is grateful our employees did not suffer serious injuries in either incident and we appreciate the first responders for their prompt response to both matters.

The first incident occurred at the Town’s interim depot location at approximately 2 a.m. A Town employee was injured while working on a piece of snow clearing equipment. First responders and authorities were notified and responded to the incident. The employee was transported to hospital and is currently doing well. The Town respects the employee’s privacy and no further updates will be provided on the individual. As is standard practice with this type of incident, Occupational Health and Safety is investigating the matter and the Town is fully cooperating in the process.

The second incident occurred during snow clearing operations and involved a vehicle colliding with a Town tandem truck. The Town equipment was damaged, however, there were no injuries to the employee operating the truck. First responders were notified and responded to the incident. The equipment had to be towed from the site and Town crews assisted in the process. The equipment is being assessed to determine the required repairs.

The Town will provide a further update on snow clearing operations later this evening and we thank residents for their patience and understanding as we adjust the snow clearing operations to respond to the incidents.
