Gender Equity in Recreational Sport – Apply for Free Training

The Town of Paradise is committed to creating a thriving, diverse and inclusive community together, which is a vision that captures the community-centric ideals of one of the fastest-growing municipalities in the province. Furthermore, we recognize the importance of education surrounding gender equity, particularly in the areas of sport and recreation. 

In support of this, the Canadian Parks and Recreation Association (CPRA) has awarded the Town funding to hold free and accessible training workshops.

Compost Bins Now Available

Did you know approximately 41% of food waste comes from the home?

To help reduce waste and keep organics out of landfills, the Town of Paradise is offering compost bins for $45. Pick up yours at the Town Hall during regular hours (8:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.) or call 709-782-3577 if you have any questions. 

The type of composter we are using this year is the tumbler bin.  Some general information on this bin:  

• assembly required (approximately one hour)

Garbage collection for Area 3 A&B is ongoing this evening (Thursday, April 29) and is expected to be finished by 6:00 p.m. Recycling has been collected for the area. The Town apologizes for the inconvenience.

May is Community CleanUp Month!

With spring here and the snow gone, we need your help to get Paradise in tip-top shape! Residents, businesses, and groups are invited to join in and lend a hand from May 1 - 31 during Community Clean-u­p Month. Get outside and help the environment while cleaning up neighborhoods, school areas, open spaces, trails, and business locations. As a bonus, everyone registered for the event will be added to a prize draw! To participate and register, please email psilver@paradise.ca.  

Work Resumes on T’Railway Upgrades - Starts April 27, 2021

Work resumes on the T’Railway upgrade project on Tuesday, April 27. The project involves the section of trail from McNamara Drive to the CBS boundary, and is expected to be completed by end of July. The work includes widening and resurfacing the section of trail, installing a granular surface, and completing appropriate edging and drainage.
