Year-round the Town of Paradise hosts an array of events. Seasonal events are planned throughout the year which offer residents and visitors an opportunity to celebrate and enjoy the community spirit of Paradise. The two main festivals for the Town are Snow and Ice, the annual Winter Carnival in Paradise held in February and SunSplash Paddle In Paradise, the summer celebration held annually in August.

Paradise Wellness Expo (June 22)

The Paradise Wellness Expo showcases different resources available to all ages, including interactives, entertainment and prizes. Here is what you can expect this year:

 Memorial Day Ceremony (July 1)

Location: War Memorial, Town Hall

Our Memorial Day Ceremony will be held at Town Hall War Memorial, starting at 10:55 a.m. Please join us as we pay our respects for all fallen soldiers, and commemorates the brave efforts of the province’s veterans. To lay a wreath during the ceremony, please call 782-6290, or email.

Canada Day in Paradise Park (July 1)

Date: July 1

Time: 1 p.m.

Location: Paradise Park

The Town of Paradise is proud to host its Annual Canada Day Celebrations. Come out and join in the fun with a full day of free activities! The fun begins in the afternoon with a great offering of activities including a free BBQ, large bouncy castle rides, and face painting, courtesy of Pixy Mama.

Thomas Amusements will also be on site (admission will be charged for rides). There will be an all-day entertainment and evening concert at the new bandstand in Paradise Park. The Kin Club Beer /Alcohol area will open at 2 p.m. The celebration ends at 10:00 p.m. with the closing fireworks.

The Annual TELY 10 Road Race (July 28)
Date: Sunday, July 28

Time: 8 a.m.

Location: Paradise - Mount Pearl - St. John’s

The Annual TELY 10 Mile Road Race will once again kick off in Paradise. The TELY 10 is Newfoundland’s premier road race, and is believed to be the third oldest road race in Canada and one of the oldest in North America. Visit for additional information.

Korean War Veteran Day (July 28)
Date: Sunday, July 28

Time: 10:55 a.m.

Location: War Memorial, Town Hall

The Korean War began on June 25, 1950, and the active fighting ended on July 27, 1953, with the signing of the Korea Armistice Agreement. Approximately 7,000 Canadians continued to serve in the tense theatre of operations between the signing of the Armistice and the end of 1955, with some Canadian troops remaining until 1957.

Each year a memorial is held on the last Sunday in July to remember those who lost their lives and to honour the bravery of our Canadian soldiers. If you would like to lay a wreath during the ceremony please call 709-782-6290, or or email.

SunSplash Paddle in Paradise (August 11 - 18)


The Town is looking for sponsors for our SunSplash Paddle in Paradise festival happening August 11 to 18. SunSplash includes popular annual community events like Family Fun Day, the Paddle in Paradise Dragon Boat Festival, Outdoor Movie Night, and our Concert in Paradise Park.

By sponsoring the Town's premier summer festival your company will gain considerable exposure while helping to bring our community together for fun summer activities. This year marks the 24th Annual SunSplash Paddle in Paradise Festival!

The festival begins on Sunday, August 11 and runs through to Sunday August 18. Take a look at all the great activities we have planned to celebrate summer in Paradise.


Come help us kick off the festival at the Paradise Running Club Race and SunSplash Opening on August 11. The run is a Chip-timed event and custom designed medals will be provided for age group winners. After the run there will be a free big BBQ and live entertainment. For kids we'll also have fun races organized by the Paradise Running club. Don't miss out on the great prizes!


Come out for a great time at SunSplash Bingo Night. Satellite Bingo is one of the most exciting aspects of Charitable Gaming in the Atlantic Star Satellite Bingo Network. This event is hosted by the Kin Club of Paradise and takes place at the Paradise Double Ice Complex on Wednesday, August 14 at 7 p.m.


Bring the whole family to our outdoor movie screening on Thursday, August 15. A large screen will be set up at the new bandstand in Paradise Park. Participants are encouraged to bring folding chairs. In case of inclement weather, the venue will move inside the Paradise Double Ice Complex. The entry fee is one non-perishable food item per person.


What better way to enjoy summer than with an outdoor concert featuring great local music. This year’s SunSplash Outdoor Concert at Paradise Park takes place on Friday, August 16 and features performances by:

  • 8:30 p.m. - Eastern Passage
  • 9:30 p.m. - East Isle Wind         
  • 10:30 p.m. - Tarahan
  • 11:30 p.m. - Siochana

This is a 19+ even with a beer garden on the field. Tickets ($20) go on sale in early August at the Paradise Double Ice Complex.


Join the Avalon Dragons and the Town of Paradise on Saturday, August 17 for the 2019 Paddle in Paradise Dragon Boat Festival.  Dragon Boating starts in the morning at 8 a.m. There will be children’s face painting and food concessions throughout the day. Come cheer on your favorite of the 30 teams competing in this year’s Dragon Boat championship.


After the dragon boat festival, why not stick around for some fun on the water. We'll have boating activities like canoeing, kayaking, live entertainment, fun games, and awesome prizes for all to enjoy.


Family Fun Day on Sunday, August 18 is for everyone! There will be something for all ages including special performances and live entertainment, free bouncy castles rides, games, face painting, food concessions, and games of chance. The morning part of the Fun Day (noon - 5 p.m.) is a ticketed event. Admission is $5 for adults and free for children under the age of 12.

The excitement continues from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. as we close out SunSplash with a free night of fun and live entertainment, including music, a Fire Show performed by “Smokeshow”, roasting fires, and a fantastic fireworks display.

Body Quest Kids Duathlon

Date: Aug 24, 2019

Time: 9 a.m.

Location: Paradise Park

This year’s Paradise Kids Duathlon begins with an exhilarating run through Paradise Park, followed by a bike ride on nearby trails, and finishing off with a final sprint to the finish to celebrate the accomplishment. All children will be provided Kids Duathlon swag. Snacks and refreshments will be provided. All distances of the run and bike are adjusted based on the age of the participants. Body Quest Paradise Triathlon

Date: Aug 25, 2019

Time: 8 a.m.

Location: Paradise Park

This year’s Triathlon begins with a 750m open-water swim in Octagon Pond, followed by a 20.4km bike ride on nearby roads, and concludes with a fast 5km run on the trail around Octagon Pond. If this seems a little too daunting, this year the event will include a team option, where teams of two or three work together to complete the Triathlon. An awards event at the Rotary Paradise Youth and Community Centre will take place after the Triathlon. If you're not participating, why not come watch or volunteer? Terry Fox Run

Help support a great cause by getting your family, friends, or community group involved in the Terry Fox Run.
