Spring Fitness Classes

In keeping with all current public health guidelines, we are excited to offer Spring Classes for Spring 2021. From beginner to advanced classes, we have a variety of options to help you get healthy and active.

Registration for our 2021 Spring classes opens 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 14, 2021 and is available online only through the Town’s Recreation Portal

To support public health guidelines, the Town is not able to offer drop-in participation for Spring 2021; all fitness class participants must be registered in advance.

Note: The BodyQuest Fitness Centre is also open for members, by appointment only. Class Schedule

Spring Fitness Classes run from April 17th - June 25, 2021.

 Body Weight Blast
Time: Thursday – 6:00 p.m.
Cost: $50 for one 10 week session
  • This class will challenge you head to toe while helping to improve your coordination and balance
  • With the use of functional, strength, balance, and bodyweight exercises, this class is a full-body workout
  • With modifications available, this class is suitable for all fitness levels in a high energy group setting 
 Yoga Flow
Time: Thursday – 7:15 p.m.

Cost: $40 for one 10 week session

  • Moving through sequences from basic to complex, this class will maintain awareness and focus on the breath while working towards moving through basic to advanced postures
  • This style of yoga builds heat, flexibility, and strength while maintaining focus on good alignment and sound structure
  • Participants are encouraged to please bring a yoga mat 
 Shine Dance Fitness™
Time: Sunday – 6:00 p.m.

Cost: $50 for one 10 week session

  • A high cardio class rooted in jazz, ballet, and hip hop styles combined with upbeat music
  • The SHiNE™ dance floor is open to EVERYBODY. No dance experience necessary - come as you are!
  • Modifications available for a lower impact class
 Yoga at St. Thomas Line
Time: Saturday – 9:00 a.m.

Cost: $40 for one 10 week session

  • Intended for beginners or those who prefer a gentle, slower-paced practice
  • Explore the foundations of yoga, standing and sitting postures, breathing techniques, relaxation, and balance
  • Participants can expect to improve their overall fitness level by gaining strength, flexibility and balance
  • Participants are encouraged to please bring a yoga mat
Time: Monday – 6:00 p.m. and Wednesday - 7:15 p.m.

Cost: $70 for one 10 week session

  • An effective workout that allows you to train in the off-season or for healthy living
  • Utilizes an adjustable fitness bike
  • Offering varied routines, spin class is suitable for all ability levels and is sure to burn calories
 Gentle Flow Yoga
Time: Monday – 7:15 p.m. and Tuesday - 7:15 p.m. 
Cost: $40 for one 10 week session
  • Stay limber longer! As time goes on, we tend to become more inflexible, eventually leading to many restrictions in our daily lives
  • This class focuses on maintaining and improving flexibility while stretching through a series of yoga movements suitable for a beginner to intermediate level
  • Participants are encouraged to please bring a yoga mat
 Yoga Strong
Time: Tuesday – 6:00 p.m.

Cost: $40 for one 10 week session

  • A more dynamic version of traditional yoga, this 50-minute class is low impact with a focus on isometric strength drills
  • Focusing on different parts of the body, this class is great for anyone looking to increase strength that may lack mobility or endurance
  • With the addition of extra resistance through light hand weights and resistance bands, this class is a great way to work your muscles in new ways!
  • Participants are encouraged to please bring a yoga mat
Nordic Walking
Time: Saturday – 9:00 a.m. (50+) and Saturday - 10:30 a.m. (All Ages)

Cost: $20 for 4 weeks (Pilot session)

  • Nordic walking combines cardiovascular exercise with a vigorous muscle workout for your shoulders, arms, core, and legs
  • Can be enjoyed both by non-athletes as a health-promoting physical activity, and by athletes as a sport
  • The activity is performed with specially designed walking poles similar to ski poles, provided by the Town
  • Funding provided by the Wellness Coalition

  • If you have not created an account, it is suggested that you do so before the morning of registration. To create an account, under Course Registration click the "Create Account" button on the homepage.
  • Please note the time on our computer's server may differ slightly from your computer time (e.g. time may say 8:58 a.m. and your computer may say 9:01 a.m.) so please be patient.
