Ice Control

Ice control in the Town of Paradise shall be done on a priority basis as follows:

1. Arterial roads: Topsail Road
2. Collector roads: St. Thomas Line and steep hills, as determined by the Town
3. Local Roads: all side roads and cul-de-sacs

During the peak of an ice control event, the main effort is to keep arterial and collector roads from becoming slippery.

Local roads will be done as required after arterial and collector roads are completed.

Under "normal" ice control events, each route will be completed within a five to six hour period from the time the storm has ended.

Ice control on all roads in serviced areas shall be done using 100% salt. All other roads shall be done using a 25% / 75% salt / sand mixture.
