Departments

Paradise Town Council is the legislative body that represents the residents of Paradise. Under the guidance of the Mayor and six (6) Councillors, Council provides both residents and businesses with required infrastructure, services and amenities. The Town offers services including business development, parks and recreation, planning and development, municipal enforcement, snow clearing, recycling, and much more.

The Council is the elected voice and makes all major decisions. It is the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), along with the executive team, who is responsible for the day-to-day operations. The Town of Paradise employs approximately135 full-time and part-time employees.

The Corporate Services department oversees the management of the Town's financial affairs, the human resources function, communications, records management, and information technology.

It provides recommendations to Council and staff on fiscal issues and implements policies, procedures and systems in order to promote and protect the Town's financial interests and coordinates the preparation and monitoring of the annual budget

Finance

Prepares the Town's annual budget, monitors all financial activity, administers taxation and billing, and pays invoices.

Human Resources 

Oversees the recruitment, training and development of Town employees.

Communications  

Keeps residents, Town employees, and stakeholders informed about the operations of the Town of Paradise.

Records Management

Provides guidance on the administration of digital or paper records for the Town.

Information Technology

Manages all the computers, networks and technical systems used by the Town.

The Infrastructure and Public Works department is responsible for all Town infrastructural, public works and engineering services.

In terms of Public Works, the department is responsible for the effective and efficient planning, maintenance, and operation of the Town's road system, garbage collection, snow clearing, water supply infrastructure, and facilities.

On the Engineering side, the department provides professional engineering services to Town departments, Council and the general public. It is also responsible for the design, repair, maintenance and replacement of the Town's infrastructure.

The Planning and Protective Services department provides planning and building-related services to Council, other departments and the general public. It provides advice and recommendations to Council on development matters, including long-range planning, development control, building inspection and mapping. 

The Town municipal enforcement officers (MEO) work to maintain public safety, comfort, environmental cleanliness and more. They inspect and investigate private and public property, as well as municipally licensed and permitted businesses and premises to ensure compliance with Acts, bylaws and regulations. Protective services offered to residents also include our regional fire services.

The Town's Recreation and Community Services department is committed to delivering quality programs and services for residents that promote healthy, active lifestyles and provide opportunities to socialize and celebrate with family and friends through community events.The department maintains and operates all sport and recreation facilities, walking trails, organizes special events and promotes and administers programs for the community.
