Available positions for Summer 2026 include the following:

We are seeking a highly motivated and well-organized individual with strong leadership skills to supervise the Town’s Summer Day Camp programs (Caboodle, Wahoo, and Excursion). The Day Camp Supervisor plays a key role in enhancing programming by creating engaging, age-appropriate activities that meet the needs and interests of all participants.

Responsibilities include program planning, supervising and scheduling staff, organizing daily activities and requesting, tracking, and acquiring inventory and supplies. This role requires creativity, strong organizational skills, and the ability to lead a team in delivering safe, fun, and memorable camp experiences.

Qualifications:

  • Clear Certificate of Conduct / Vulnerable Sector Check (completed within the last 6 months)
  • Valid Standard First Aid and CPR Certificate
  • High Five®  Principles of Healthy Child Development
  • Two years’ leadership experience
  • Two years’ experience working in a summer program
  • Two years’ post-secondary education in a field related to children/youth issues, needs, or development (ex. recreation, physical education, education, early childhood education, social work, nursing) Experience/training in planning and coordinating programming for children/youth in a group setting
  •  Experience in training, supervision, and evaluation of staff, program planning, and experience in instructing various sports activities, crafts, and games

Period of Employment: June 1 – August 21, 2026

Rate of Pay: $19.00/hour (40 hours/week) (flex-time will be required)

We are seeking energetic and enthusiastic individuals who enjoy working with children ages 6–12 in a fun, fast-paced environment. As a Day Camp Head Counsellor, you will work closely with the Supervisor to plan and implement engaging daily activities, provide leadership and support to Day Camp Counsellors, and help enhance programming through creative ideas and initiative.

Ideal candidates will demonstrate a strong sense of safety awareness, excellent communication and customer service skills, and the ability to lead by example. Responsibilities also include maintaining a clean and organized work area and helping ensure a positive, inclusive, and memorable camp experience for all participants.

Qualifications:

  • Clear Certificate of Conduct / Vulnerable Sector Check (completed within the last 6 months)
  • Valid Standard First Aid and CPR Certificate
  • High Five® Principles of Healthy Child Development
  • Experience working in a summer program

Period of employment: June 15 – August 21, 2026

Rate of Pay: $18.00/hour (40 hours/week) (flex-time will be required)

We are seeking energetic, enthusiastic individuals who enjoy working with children ages 6–12 in a fun and active environment. Day Camp Counsellors play an important role in delivering engaging daily activities under the guidance of Supervisors and Head Counsellors, while helping create a safe, inclusive, and positive experience for all participants.

Responsibilities include leading and supporting activities, contributing creative ideas to enhance programming, and maintaining a strong focus on safety at all times. Successful candidates will demonstrate effective communication and excellent customer service skills, along with a commitment to keeping program spaces clean, organized, and welcoming.

Qualifications:

  • Clear Certificate of Conduct / Vulnerable Sector Check (completed within the last 6 months)
  • Valid Standard First Aid and CPR Certificate
  • High Five®  Principles of Healthy Child Development
  • Experience working in a summer program
  • Post-secondary education in a field related to children / youth issues, needs, or development would be an asset (ex. recreation, physical education, education, early childhood education, social work, nursing)

Period of employment: June 22 – August 21, 2026

Rate of Pay: $17.00/hour (Full-Time - 40 hours/week, Part-Time – 10-15 hours/week) (flex-time will be required)

We are seeking energetic, compassionate individuals who are interested in working with small groups of children who may require additional support. Inclusion Counsellors play a vital role in creating a welcoming and inclusive camp environment by working alongside Day Camp Counsellors and Supervisors while providing individualized, one-on-one support for children with diverse needs.

This position focuses on helping every child feel safe, supported, and included in all activities. Successful candidates will be patient, adaptable, and team-oriented, with a strong commitment to fostering positive experiences and meaningful participation for all campers.

Qualifications:

  • Clear Certificate of Conduct / Vulnerable Sector Check (issued within the past six months)
  • Valid Standard First Aid and CPR certification
  • High Five® Principles of Healthy Child Development certification
  • Previous experience working in a summer program
  • Experience working with children in an inclusive setting
  • Post-secondary education in a field related to children or youth development is considered an asset (e.g., Recreation, Physical Education, Education, Early Childhood Education, Social Work, Nursing)

Period of employment: June 22 – August 21, 2026

Rate of Pay: $17.50/hour (40 hours/week) (flex-time will be required)
