Eligibility to Avail of the After School Program
Provincial public health guidelines outline eligibility criteria for all After School Programs. All participants in the 2026–2027 After School Program must meet these requirements.
If your child falls into one or more of the categories below, they may be required to attend the program with an independently hired respite worker:
- Children should be fully toilet trained, as parents/guardians are not permitted to enter and leave the program area to assist with personal care unless pre-approved by the Town in accordance with public health guidelines. Staff may provide verbal reminders for personal care procedures, but are not permitted to provide physical assistance. Children who require assistance with toileting may attend the program with an independently hired respite worker.
- Children should be able to feed themselves independently. Children who require assistance with feeding may attend the program with an independently hired respite worker.
Additional screening questions during registration may include:
- Will your child attend the program with an independently hired respite worker?
- Does your child require assistance with hand washing?
Registration for the 2026 - 2027 After School Program is online only. The system enables enrollment and payment for the program.
