The Town of Paradise brings its recycling to the City of St. John's Materials Recovery Facility at the Robin Hood Bay Waste Management Facility. At this time, the City does not accept glass containers in its curbside program.

Curbside recycling is collected bi-weekly (every second week) in a separate truck from the garbage. While garbage and recycling trucks look the same, recycling trucks have two compartments in the back allowing for the separation of container recyclables and paper recyclables.

No. You can leave labels on bottles, cans and containers.

Some helpful hints include:

• Rinse food residue from containers.
• Remove bottle caps (so that residue can evaporate and not add weight and mess).
• Double check your recycling bag for any items that should be placed in the trash.

If you miss your collection day, you can set out your recyclables that following recyclable collection day or you can take them to the Robin Hood Bay Residential Drop-off Facility, which is open on Tuesday to Saturday, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The recycling and garbage trucks are dual compartment (split body) and the width of these compartments is 2 ft.

The Town of Paradise has partnered with MMSB to offer backyard compost bins to residents. You can pick up your bin for $45 (tax included) at the Town Hall, 28 McNamara Drive during regular work hours from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. With approximately 30% of household waste being organic, composting helps to significantly reduce waste going to landfills. By composting waste, we create a natural environment where decomposer organisms - like bacteria, insects, worms and fungi break down organic waste and convert it into nutrient-rich compost.
