Garbage Guidelines

Garbage and recycling are collected using automated trucks and wheeled carts supplied by the Town. Carts and recycling must be at the curb by 8 a.m. the day of collection. Garbage must be in the Town-supplied wheeled cart and recycling should be uncovered and placed outside your garbage container.

General Garbage Collection Guidelines

• The maximum weight of any one garbage bag should not exceed 50lbs/22kgs. Kitchen catchers, shopping bags and larger industrial or yard work bags are not permitted for garbage collection.
• Hypodermic needles and other sharp objects, including broken glass, must be placed in a puncture proof container prior to placing them in the garbage.
• Make sure your waste is visible to the driver and there is clear access to the waste container.

• Garbage carts must be spaced three feet apart.

• Recycling should be spaced three feet from the garbage cart.
