Yard Waste Guidelines
Yard Waste Collection – NEW PROGRAM
As of June 2025, the Town is offering a Yard Waste Collection. This collection occurs on your recycling collection days (in June and November). Please place your organic waste in brown paper bags 3ft away from your garbage bin.
Guidelines for Yard Waste
- There is no limit to the number of paper yard waste bags that you can place at the curb for collection.
- Yard waste in plastic bags will not be accepted. Those in plastic bags can be placed in your garbage cart for your next scheduled garbage collection.
- Items not accepted include stumps, root balls, driveway and road sweepings, animal waste, dirt, rocks and noxious weeds.
- The weight limit for each filled paper bag is 50 lbs.
- Bags that have become saturated due to rain will not be collected.
- On collection days, place your bags of Yard Waste at the curb at least 3 ft away from your garbage bin.
What can you put in your brown Yard Waste Bag?

Small twigs and branches (tied in bundles, max 2 ft x 2 ft)

Plants and flowers (No Flower Pots)

Pinecones and needles
Grasscycling
Please note: Leaving clippings on the lawn provides excellent nutrients for the lawn.
