Paradise Double Ice Complex, BodyQuest Fitness Centre & Splash Pad Closed Aug 21, 2021

The Paradise Double Ice Complex, including the BodyQuest Fitness Centre and the Splash Pad in Paradise Park, is closed on Saturday, August 21, 2021, due to a planned water shut-off. Paradise Park is open.   All facilities will open for regular operations on Sunday, August 22, 2021. The Town apologizes for any inconvenience.

Municipal Election 2021 - Nomination Dates

The Nomination Period for the 2021 General Municipal Election is August 24 to August 31, 2021, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. daily, excluding Saturday and Sunday. Nominations of candidates takes place at Paradise Town Hall, 28 McNamara Drive. With current public health guidelines, individuals are asked to make an appointment with the Returning Officer by calling 709-782-1400 or emailing elections@paradise.ca.

Election Workers Needed: Deputy Returning Officers and Poll Clerks

The Town of Paradise is seeking Deputy Returning Officers and Poll Clerks for the upcoming 2021 Municipal Election.  The Advance Poll will take place on Saturday, September 18, 2021, and September 25, 2021.  The 2021 Municipal Election will take place on Tuesday, September 28, 2021.

Qualifications
Experience working Federal, Provincial or Municipal elections would be an asset.

Flushing of Hydrants to Begin Thursday, August 19, 2021

The Town of Paradise advises that flushing of dead end hydrants begins on Thursday, August 19, 2021. This is part of the Town’s water system and fire flow protection maintenance programs.

The flushing will occur between 8:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Monday to Friday and will run for approximately five weeks. Back by popular demand, on Friday, August 20, at 7 p.m., we are hosting a special #Paradise50 Drive-In Bingo night! Grab your dabbers and join us at the parking lot of the Paradise Double Ice Complex for this all-ages family event from the comfort of your own vehicle.  (Note: All vehicles must enter via Sarah Davis Way.)
