Trail Closure Notice - September 11, 2021

For the safety of residents and work crews, Town trails are closed for the afternoon (Saturday, September 11) as crews work to clear debris from the areas. Residents are asked to not use Octagon Pond Trail, Neils Pond Trail or Adams Pond Trail as crews use equipment to remove downed trees and branches, and other debris from the trails. Residents are also advised to use caution on the T'Railway as crews are assessing that area. We thank residents for their cooperation and understanding.

Yard Debris Drop-off

For residents dealing with fallen trees, branches and leaves on their property, the Town is offering a free Yard Debris Drop-off at 619 St. Thomas Line (by the St. Thomas Line Treatment Plant). The Drop-off will be available throughout the weekend (Sept 11-12) and is for yard debris only. We ask everyone to follow physical distancing at the drop-off site and we remind everyone to keep safety first when working about their properties.

Weather Closure Notice - September 10, 2021

In preparation for Hurricane Larry, the Town of Paradise advises of the following closures:

• All Town sports fields will close at 4:00 p.m. this evening, Friday, September 10  
• The Paradise Double Ice Complex (including the BodyQuest Fitness Centre) will close at 9:00 p.m. tonight, Friday, September 10 
• There will be a delayed opening for the Paradise Double Ice Complex on Saturday, September 11, with the facility opening at 8:30 a.m.

Town of Paradise to Recognize National Day for Truth and Reconciliation

The Town of Paradise is joining the Federal and Provincial Governments to recognize September 30 as the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation and will close all Town facilities for the day.

PSA: Residents Advised to Prepare for Hurricane Larry

With a hurricane watch issued for the Avalon Peninsula, the Town of Paradise is advising all residents and businesses to prepare for the severe weather. Hurricane Larry is expected to hit the region overnight on Friday, September 10, bringing potential for high winds and heavy rainfall.
