I have been immersed in many of the towns public engagement meetings over the last number of years and I have stayed up to date on most of the regular council meetings so I feel I have a good handle on the past and current town business. I love this town and will work hard to be your ambassador on Paradise Town Council. Let’s freshen up our team at Paradise Town Hall. I respectfully ask for your support. I have significant experience in the operation of representative organizations, having served on NAPE Board of Directors (10 years) and NL Federation of Labour (8 years). I have also served as a shop steward for over 30 years. I am running to offer the citizens of Paradise an alternative to the status quo. I am concerned about Council spending and I want to ensure good stewardship of our hard-earned tax dollars. I also want to ensure that services and facilities are maintained and enhanced where fiscally possible. A balanced sustainable approach will result in this, and prevent an excessive tax burden on our citizens. Contact Information: Telephone: 709-690-2619 |

I graduated from Geomatics Engineering Technology at the College of the North Atlantic. I am an Engineering Projects Coordinator with the Department of Transportation and Infrastructure. As a longtime volunteer I recognize the impact that giving back to your community has on our Town. As a member of Girl Guides of Canada I have had the privilege of being a member of Area and Provincial Council. Currently, I hold the position of Paradise District Treasurer and Contact Guider of 2nd Paradise Sparks. This summer I volunteered with my daughter’s Rally Cap team for Paradise Minor Baseball. Investing time back into the community has been rewarding and I encourage residents to learn ways they can contribute. I was elected to council in September 2009, with the past four years serving as your Deputy Mayor. Since then, our Town has made incredible strides. I commit to remain an active, accessible, and engaged member of Council. I look forward to working with you and continuing to make Paradise an extraordinary place to live, do business, and raise a family. Contact Information: Telephone: 709-699-0334 |

I have resided in Paradise for 42 years with my husband Greg and raised my son Gregory here. I am a Paralegal and owner and operator of Paradise Paralegal Services Ltd. I was first elected to Council in 1993 having served as Deputy Mayor and Councillor. I am extremely proud and honoured to have the privilege and opportunity to represent the residents of Paradise for the past 28 years and for that I am sincerely grateful. Paradise has experienced significant growth and development in the residential, commercial, and industrial sectors. I am committed to continue to advocate on your behalf for continuation of water and sewer services for the remaining nine roads not yet serviced, construction of two by-pass roads to alleviate traffic on major thoroughfares, and construction of our Community Recreation Water Facility on Octagon Pond. These projects are just a few of the many that Paradise will look forward to in the next four years. I commit to be your voice on Council in the decision-making for the next four years. I look forward to being your representative to ensure growth and development continues in the Town of Paradise, a place we are so proud to call Home.

Enabling positive change means being there, being available, and listening to your concerns. I believe it’s important to create meaningful governance that not only engages residents and stakeholders but empowers them to be involved and be part of the decision-making and priority setting, in helping to foster a sustainable community. Over the last two years I've thoroughly enjoyed serving you. Much has been accomplished through my direct participation in Planning and Protective Services committee , Recreation committee and Council Chambers. Through my work, volunteer , and community experiences I’ve developed the necessary skills to assist you. I’ve recently completed an Executive Certificate in Local Government Leadership through Dalhousie Univerisity. It has provided me with knowledge in the areas of social innovation concepts, strategic alignment, public engagement processes and collaborative and collective action. I'd like to thank residents and those who contacted me over the past two years to share their ideas, concerns and frustrations. Its been a privilege to represent you and I will continue to work hard to address issues that matter most to you. Hello, my name is Jamie Thornhill and I'm originally from Fortune on the Burin Peninsula, but my heart lies in the town of Paradise. I have lived in Paradise for fourteen years with my wife, Loraine, and daughter Chiara, and am presently employed with Island Propane. I have seen the town grow and witnessed some wonderful changes over the years, yet there is so much more that needs to be done. I spend a lot of time visiting various parts of this community and talking with people about issues of concern. Among those issues are speeding and dirt bikes that continue to plague areas of Paradise and I plan to do my best to have these addressed. Being able to listen, relate to people and speak up when required makes me, I believe, a good choice as a member of your town council. On September 28 I would like your vote. With it I guarantee I will listen to you and do my best to make Paradise a community we can all be proud of. Contact Information: Telephone: 709-746-1513 |

A councillor is a leader, someone you can call upon when needed. Whether that's to setup a meeting, offer guidance or someone to hear your concerns. I am running to be your advocate, to allow our town to grow and prosper and to keep you informed. You can count on me to be available, to be an outspoken advocate, to be practical and to demonstrate leadership. For the last 20 years, I have lived in Paradise, Jennifer and I have raised our kids here and are proud to call it home. For 13 of those years, I have volunteered with the Paradise Soccer Club, including as chair of the SunSplash Soccer Tournament (five years) and currently as director of community relations. I am also chair, Mount Pearl Senior High School Council; president, Canadian Parents for French–NL; and board member, Shallaway Youth Choir. I am a graduate of Memorial's Bachelor of Commerce (co-op) and Bachelor of Arts (French major) programs. For the last 15 years, I have worked as a communications professional in the federal public service in corporate communications, media relations and web management.
