
Erin Furlong is a newly elected member of the Paradise Town Council, bringing with her a strong sense of belonging, community pride, and dedication to public service. Along with her partner and two children, Erin has proudly called Paradise home since 2013 and has witnessed the town’s incredible growth and evolution over the years.
A passionate leader and advocate for residents, Erin has demonstrated her commitment through volunteer roles as Chair of the Octagon Pond School Council, with the Parents for a Paradise High School Committee, and the Paradise Minor Hockey Association. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a Master of Science in Experimental Clinical Psychology and is currently employed as a Manager of Mental Health and Addictions with Newfoundland and Labrador Health Services.
Professionally, Erin has built a reputation as a collaborative and compassionate leader who values teamwork, transparency, and accountability. Her approach to decision-making is rooted in listening to residents and finding practical, community-focused solutions.
On Council, Erin is the Department Lead for Infrastructure and Engineering and will sit on the Regional Water and Regional Wastewater Committees. Her priorities include promoting safe and accessible streets and recreation areas, supporting smart and responsible community growth, and ensuring all residents of Paradise feel valued, included, and heard.
When she’s not working, Erin can often be found at the Double Ice Complex cheering on her two young hockey players, exploring the outdoors, camping, kayaking, or enjoying a boil-up by the fire with friends and family.
Erin is deeply honoured to serve the residents of Paradise and looks forward to working collaboratively with Council, staff, and community members to continue making Paradise a great place to live, work, and play.
