St. John’s East MP Nick Whalen presented Councillor Sterling Willis with a Canada 150 Sesquicentennial Pin. This presentation was part of Canada 150 Celebrations, where Liberal Members of Parliament across the country are recognizing outstanding individuals with the limited-edition pin, made of copper from the roof of the Parliament of Canada.

The Town of Paradise advises that the 2017 Christmas Parade is cancelled for today, Sunday, December 17. This decision was made with a number of safety factors in mind, including snowclearing work and the forecast for this afternoon. The priority for work crews today is to focus on post-storm snow clearing efforts.
