With the start of the school year, the Town of Paradise is reminding all residents to use extra caution in all school zones. There are four schools in Paradise: Elizabeth Park Elementary (Ellesmere Avenue), Holy Family Elementary (St. Thomas Line), Octagon Pond Elementary (Sgt Donald Lucas Drive) and Paradise Elementary (Karwood Drive).
During the school year, and in particular this first week back to school, drivers are asked to reduce speeds near the schools and watch for students walking and playing...

The Town of Paradise is advising residents that road work will begin next week, September 5, on Kenmount Road. The work will involve the section of road from the roundabout to civic 1194. The work on Kenmount Road is expected to last approximately two months. For that project, work will be completed daily from 7:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., Monday to Friday and every second Saturday. The nomination process for the 2017 Town of Paradise election ran from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 31. A total of 2 candidates for mayor and 16 candidates for councillor were nominated. The election is on September 26.

The Honourable Dale Kirby, Minister of Education and Early Childhood Development, announced today that the new Paradise Intermediate will be built just off McNamara Drive, in Paradise. The Honourable Dale Kirby, Minister of Education and Early Childhood Development, will unveil the location for the new Paradise Intermediate tomorrow (Tuesday, August 29) at 1:30 p.m. on McNamara Drive, near the entrance to the Dianne Whalen Memorial Soccer Complex.
Minister Kirby will be joined by Tony Stack, CEO/Director of Education (Interim) with the Newfoundland and Labrador English School District, and Mayor Dan Bobbett and councillors from the Town of Paradise.
