Snow Clearing Operations Suspended for Town of Paradise

Due to deteriorating weather conditions, effective 4:30 p.m. Friday, January 17, the Town of Paradise has suspended snow clearing operations. For the safety of operators, all equipment is being returned to the Town depot and snow clearing operations will not resume until the weather conditions improve to safely do so. Town of Paradise Declares State of Emergency

Due to current weather conditions, the Town of Paradise has declared a state of emergency. All businesses are to close and all non-essential workers are asked to stay home. All residents are ordered to stay off Town roads until the state of emergency is lifted. At this time, Town plows are operational and clearing Topsail Road and collector roads. Update on Storm Preparedness and Operations

With the severe winter storm forecast to hit the region within the next 24 hours, the Town of Paradise provided the following update on its plans and operations.  The Town is prepared deal with the significant snow fall. Delayed Opening for Monday, January 6

3:00 p.m: With the significant snowfall, our crews are focused on clearing Town roads in priority order. To enable crews to focus on that work, all Town facilities will remain closed for the day.

Weather Closures

Due to the weather, all Town recreation facilities, including the Paradise Double Ice Complex and the Rotary Paradise Youth and Community Centre will close at 5 p.m.  today, Sunday, January 5, 2020. With the early closure, the public skate scheduled for 4:30 p.m. is cancelled for today.  There will be a delayed opening for Town recreation facilities on Monday, January 6, 2020; an update will be provided by 7 a.m. on Monday.
