The Town of Paradise advises of emergency water main repairs on Topsail Road in the vicinity of Paradise Fire Station No 8. Crews are working to address the issue. As a result of the work, there are lane closure on Topsail Road in front of the fire station and an emergency water shut-off is required along Topsail Road (from Paradise Road to Irving Drive). The Town of Paradise has reached an agreement with the Newfoundland and Labrador Association of Public and Private Employees (NAPE) which represents its bargaining unit employees. The Town of Paradise advises effective 6:00 a.m. Monday, October 23, 2017, bargaining unit employees are on lockout status with the Town. “We regret that we have to proceed with lockout action for our bargaining unit employees. The Town of Paradise advises that its regular Council meetings will move to a monthly schedule. The Council Meeting scheduled for Tuesday, October 24, 2017 is cancelled and the next regular meeting of Council is scheduled for Tuesday, November 7, 2017.

Paradise Fire Station No. 8 has marked one full year of operation in the Town. Since opening its doors in August 2016, it has responded to 394 calls in the service area and the average response time is 4:38. Prior to the dedicated fire station, 254 calls were responded to in the Paradise area and the average response time was 8:35.
